Whole Brain Teaching: Grade 1 I had seen this video before. It focuses on whole brain teaching but this is also a math discussion with first graders. It is a great representation of how to teach and use a number line for understanding.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy Khan Academy is a great resource for teachers, students and parents. This site is organized by grade, subject and topics. This could be used in many ways. Teachers can use this as finding other ways to show different topics. Students could use this at school or home as a resource to complete other school or homework. I can see this being extremely helpful at home. Parents could use this as a resource to see how students have been learning and they can see specific examples of how to work problems.

Learn Zillion

Learn Zillion Learn Zillion is full of great resources for teachers and even parents. There is access to lesson ideas and the site is organized by math topic and grade. This site is great because each math topic is labeled with a connecting standard. This is a grantee that these lessons are reliable and used by other teachers!

IXL Math

Image
IXL IXL is a great website for references for teachers and for the resource of a student. IXL includes Math, Language Arts, Spanish, Social Studies and Science content areas. This site has endless lessons and practice under the Math category, which is also organized by grade level. This makes the site easy to navigate for teachers and students. I would incorporate this site into my classroom in a few ways. This site could be used in the classroom for students to learn something new or get some more practice in with a newly learned skill. My favorite way to use this site would be with students at home. This site would be great as a resource for parents to understand how to work problems students are working on and also allow students extra practice at home!
